Who Knew?!

Well. As it turns out, plenty of people still like Dave Matthews. Shameful, really, but this is America.
Some people like good food; some people like McDonald's.
Some people like good books; some people like Dean Koontz.
Some people like good music and then-- some people like Dave Matthews.

Unfortunately for Mr. Matthews, the cross-section of humanity that sprang to his defense...well, not the creme de la creme, if you will.

ewww, first off, the name of your band is gross. 2nd...how disrespectful is that song, "jonbenet?!" come on now. you have NO room talking about dave like that.

I guess none of you have heard that really obscure Dave Matthews B-side, "I Like Fucking Little Boys." I guess you're not a REAL fan!

I'm so sorry for you on so many levels. I can only hope one day you can open up and find DMB you will be a born again human being!

Then maybe Dave Matthews can take me out to a remote farm and feed me some poisioned Kool-Aid. Creeeepy!!!

Seek up little girl before you do become a danger to self or others.

You know, I couldn't figure out why I so enjoyed drinking until I blacked out and then driving at high speeds. Then this commenter brought it to light--it's because I hate Dave Matthews! Obviously!!

I think I may devote the rest of this blog to hating on pathetic, has-been pop icons. It's so much fun!!

Ha!! Or maybe not. I mean...honestly, it just seems too easy!

maybe dave will fuck you one day....you know, since you look like a 9 year old boy! I'm way jealous of you!

that was such a sad attempt to comment back on my comment that i left you about your song "jonbenet." you cant think of any dave song (since there isnt one) that you can compare to your song about killing jon benet. that is just sick. and the blood stained pads? wow, THAT is CREEPY. before i go and clean off this blood from my ears (after listing to your music, i have to say that this is such a sad attempt of a blog you have here. especially when hundreds of dave fans are reading it and laughing their asses off at you. way to get attention.

You have a mind of a neglected insolent child, therefore I will give you some attention that you are lacking from your loved ones.

I find you too eager to criticize others. Does it make you feel good about yourself when you do that. Is your self-worth so low that the only way you can speak on any issue is by disparaging others, most of whom you have no idea about? Clearly, you have no clue that Dave Matthews Band is one of the top 3 all time live shows listed by Rolling Stones Magazine behind U2 and Radiohead. Second, we are proud that DMB is a has been pop icon to people like yourself who like to hear the same song ten times in the same day. We are proud that they do not get airplay in your teeny bopper radio stations, yet we have been selling out ampitheaters for 15 years. That is called longevity. Finally, if you have an ounce of self and social conscience, you will spend your time learning more about what this band and this man has been doing for the local farmers, environment, education for children, victims of natural disasters, veterans benefit, and music. Wake up, Child.

Oh man, KT. This is hilarious! Maybe someday you'll understand HOW TOTALLY AWESOME and ENDLESSLY SWEET AND DOPE the DAVE MATTHEWS BAND EXPERIENCE really is. Also, please rename your band The Matthews-Pads.

I don't believe I have EVER seen such a gaggle of salivating sycophants in my entire lifetime,
and believe me that's longer than I like to think about.

KT,

You're old buddy Trapper had to come to your defense on this one.

No, that's okay. I'm HAPPY to do it.

First off, about 10 years ago I road COACH in a plane from NYC to PGH with Dave friggin' Matthews in his heyday. Only a handful of people dared approach him. I couldn't pick him out of a lineup THEN, and I couldn't tell him apart from the guy who delivers my mail today.

I am a few months away from 40 and AM SMACK DAB IN HIS DEMOGRAPHIC. I COULD NOT CARE LESS about his POP music. Yes, it is a form of POP music. Nothing particularly groundbreaking. Fun in a Tower-of-Power meets bluegrass clusterbunch? Yes.

Oh, btw all you ham-and-eggers, KT is far cuter than any of you pencil-pushin' dweebs will ever land (my apologies to Robbo, KT...none of these marijuana-burnin', hemp-pants-wearin' Jimmy Buffet wanna-be fans buts on the Pads' Numero Uno guitar killa on MY WATCH!)

Now she's not KAK cute, but that's personal preference. Oh, you don't know KAK? Bite me.

How's that? Dave Matthews was in a movie with a dog that could have been a clone of my own. That's his relevance in 2005. Not so much today.

As for JonBenet...It's REALLY ABOUT that nerdy cracker who claimed to kill her while celebrating the season with his family thousands of miles away from the actual crime.

But then again, Dave Matthews fans ALWAYS listen to the lyrics.

Pass me another mariguana cigarette. Hell, is that what they call them? Who the F' knows, I'm a Republican who LOVES THE MAXI PADS!

I feel much better now.

Embrace yourself Pittsburgh, because Dave is a coming. Yes, August 10th…the band and all his fans are going to invade your town and perform at a sold out show at the Post Gazette Pavilion. So you may as well go into hiding now since we obviously threaten your conservative & boring lifestyle.

BTW...Dave won a Grammy in 2004 for Best Male Rock Performance and you question his relevance?

An’ Another Thing…the demographics are all ages. Teens, 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s…we all come together to celebrate 1 commonality: an appreciation for some of the coolest and talented musicians in the world.

That is all. Carry on Maxi Pads.

yea, sorry i didnt "listen" to the lyrics. i muted my laptop as quickly as possible. and then of course i had to run to the bathroom because i vomited a little in my mouth after seeing the myspace page. besides, i only listen to good lyrics that dont make my ears bleed.

oh, and dave has "not so much relevence today?" then why is he selling out at all of these venues across america every summer?

no relevance? at least he is helping the environment and standing up to the government that has become unjust.

your relevance? lol, singing aboutt jon benets "nerdy cracker who claimed to kill her while celebrating the season with his family thousands of miles away from the actual crime" doesnt really make you stand out in a crowd in a good way. just makes you look like asses.

oh, and you calling dave's music POP music kinda makes me smile...since POP stands for Popular. once again, you make yourself look like an ass. good job.

KAK?! I dont know what that means and i dont care what that means you know why? because in our community that is like a family, we have WHMOTDs and a shit load of WHILFs. NOBODY disses members of my community on MY WATCH either. so you go ahead and run along to your group of 3 as i go and head back to my group of "10,000+ proud."

Trapper needs to learn when to shut his trap. Small minded people like yourself really need to do the world a favor and try not to speak.

That is all.
Whether you like it or not, many people enjoy the music of the Dave Matthews Band, and nothing you say (in a blog no less) is going to change that.

Do you feel better now that it's off your chest? Move the fuck on then.
I bet you are one of those people that care about what Paris Hilton, and her little neanderthal followers do on a day to day basis because secretly you wish you were just like them.

You may be beautiful, but you are one ugly soul.

Anonymous said...

It is ignorant souls like you whom force me to go to work everyday(at a real job) so that Welfare can take their share out of my pay to support you fools. So, you're welcome.

Anonymous said...

Wow KT,

Who knew that the fans of lil' ole Dave Matthews were such hate mongers! Hate filled, "better than thou" elitists.

I agree that the biggest headline the group has made in quite a decade was shattting on Chicago.

Welfare? Environment? Anonymous? All subjects that make this workin' man taste a little somethin-somethin' in the back of his throat. The bile, you jerks. The bile.

Anyhoo, I am not a member of the Maxi Pads but find their whole crew intoxicating and FUN. Much like the DMB experience: Intoxicating.

And yes, at nearly 40 I am supposed to be all about Dave Matthews and his band of gypsies. Me, I'm more about B.B. King, Louis Armstrong and the great Jerry Reed.

And I'd prefer the term "Renaissance Man" to "ignorant soul." My college degree and vast knowledge of all things trivial put me "two up" on the average DMB fan.

Trap,

Now its clear that youre a complete idiot. The vast majority of fans have a college degree or they are currently attending school. (Not that having a degree equals intelligencehint, hint.) You know nothing about the band. So shut that trap and find something else to criticize. An educated man would not speak of something he knows little about. Nobody is asking you to like DMB, but why the need to run to the rescue of a 23 year old agitator? Shell learn to shut her mouth once she gets put in her place a few hundred times. (You should know that. It comes with age.) A girl like KT is simply a joke, but a person such as yourself is just sad.

Anonymous said...

Says the anonymous troglodyte.

If you don't realize that I'm playing you for your elitist, egotistical one-note paint-chip eaters, then you have perhaps attended one too many DMB smoke fests.

I am a humorist and you've all been schooled. No one has responded to me with any kind of humor. Just incredible hatred and inability to make fun of yourselves.

P.S.--You don't know KT and you're more than estatic to throw her under the perverbial bus. Plus, she's far funnier than me.

Anonymous said...

I find nothing funny about you other than the fact that you're a grown man in love with a 23 year old snot nose punk. Now that is kind of funny.

Anonymous said...

Is everyone in this KT clan physco?

Trapper says, "It rubs the lotion on the skin or else it gets the hose."

Anonymous said...

Is it just me or does anyone else see that the
DMB-ittes in their anonymous veil of invisibility, spew their hate at those who who do not agree with their line of thought ?

Their childish petulence, simpering and whining only confirm their insecurity..

Anonymous said...

Nobody asked you menstrual-obsessed freaks to agree with our line of thought. Enjoy whatever band you want to, but don't be a child about it and start a blog attacking the music we enjoy. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.

Anonymous said...

In love? That's silly.

A man can be friends with a woman. Or are you guys too obtuse for that?

hey, everyone remember when DMB's drummer's bus driver illegally emptied the bus' toilet containment tank full of shit not only into a river, but onto a boat load of people under a bridge... he should write a song about that...

Anonymous said...

Hmmm...you would think that would turn you on seeing that you like bloody Maxi Pads and shitty music.

Anonymous said...

oh, you should've seen how hard I was just typing at it. Boners galore!!

Anonymous said...

Now that's acutally pretty funny and I'm a Dave fan. Good job on lightening up the mood in here.

Unknown said...

Everyone in here is talking about having a sense of "humor," but none of the one-liners in here seem like anything that hasn't been rehashed eight hundred times.

Does anyone have anything on DMB fans aside from the weed-loving hippie stereotype or the Chicago dumping incident?

I'm all for laughing at myself, but you should be able to come up with something better than that!

"Has-been pop icons" don't year after year sell out 50-show long tours of the largest amphitheatre venues in the country. Especially when they aren't touring behind a new album.

MattJ said...

I'm curious. Did KT come over to the DMB forums to hate on this guy or did she do it on her own blog? I mean, it's not like you have to be here right? As far as I'm aware she isn't trolling your forums or your 'community'?

Where as you DMB guys appear to be anonymously trolling here in an effort to......what exactly? I'll be fair and say there are one or two of you that appear to be able to communicate without bile, which is nice but my point is you're saying how wonderful and nice and sweet your 'community' and 'family' is then in the same breath spit venom over anyone who disagrees with you. Seems incredibly odd to me. I have to confess I had to stop reading at the guy who said 'the majority of DMB fans are college graduates' for 2 reasons. 1) I just love the idea of someone having nothing better to do with his time than to find that out and 2) That a degree implicitly denotes intelligence. I met some of the dumbest people I've ever known at University - remembering stuff doesn't make you intelligent, it just means you are good at remembering stuff.

MattJ said...

PS, I am not American, I don't really know who this guy is and have no opinion on him at all or his music - I am just commentating on this beautiful outpouring of bile filled sycophancy.

Anonymous said...

Mattj, you are correct.

It all started at KT's post here, jabbing at a guy with very little, if any mainstream appeal in 2007.

Then the intolerant hate mongers poured it on, charging my pal with being a 23 year-old know-nothing. A girl, mind you, who has a band in which they play for FUN...nothing more.

No agendas. Just fun. And the sycophants smelled blood in the water.

I came aboard to defend my friend with my own brand of humor and the anonymous plague of hypocrites sped up their tactics of holier-than-thou attempted world domination.

Glad to see that some others can understand what actually is going on here.

I am absolutely astonished that no one has yet been killed at a DMB concert...there is more pent-up hate amongst his fan base than perhaps anyone else. I guess Marilyn Manson's (another pop music has been) fan base lets out their anger at MM shows.
