I’ve gone retarded.
So I’m sitting outside of my office. It’s definitely turning into fall—in fact, I think the first day of fall is this Saturday—it’s that kind of weather in which you have to wear a jacket in the morning but by midday, it’s sunny and breezy, and you can take your jacket off but you’re still glad you wore long sleeves. You know what I mean. Really good weather.
I start thinking about a year ago at this time. And you know what? I have no memory of it. Okay- that’s not entirely true, I remember bits and pieces- the incidental limo night, Halloween, spending quite a few nights at the Squirrel Cage, the cocktail party, but other than that? Completely missing. It’s like my life jumped from Labor Day to Thanksgiving. Granted, it was a shitty, rough time in my life (oh boo fucking hoo) and I was drinking a lot (I know in my later years that if I ever look back and refer to “my drinking days,” it’ll be Fall 2005), but seriously, did I manage to lose an entire SEASON?
Wow. I honestly can’t believe this.
Well, that sucks. Sorry this wasn’t funny. Allow me to make reparations.
I don't even know why this exists (God bless you, Google image search) but oh, Macaulay Culkin. You give me the heebie jeebies.

I know someone who fondly reminisces about the 90's as the "decade of drunk."
fall 2005 sucked for me too.. if i would've drank more during that time, perhaps i'd have the luxury of not recalling it.
I have no idea what happened in the Fall of 2005 either.
Macaulay Culkin looks like a child molester.
hello! I'm here for two reasons -
1) One, it's 'Autumn' not Fall you silly American people! hehe
2) Pittsburgh.
OK, I'm coming to Pittsburgh in January - just in time to catch your heat wave - to visit an old University friend. Over here if you mention you are going to the States and don't say the words 'Grand Canyon', 'New York', 'Niagara Falls' or 'Las Vegas' - people look at you like you've grown an extra head. So I been checking PA out on the net to see what I could see. Now, I found the Crayola factory which is a top start but help me out here guys!
Incidentally the Steelers are kind of my team, I have an American Football obsessed friend who watches the 49ers when we can get the games, so i randomly selected the Steelers as my team 2 years ago and then we won Superbowl. It's OK, no need to thank me ;) Granted, you can write what i know about the game or the team on the back of a postage stamp in large print but it's the thought that counts.
Anyway, what's good in Pittsburgh? I like finding stuff that isn't the usual tourist trap fodder (which I will probably do anyway!) and I reckon a 'working' city like Pittsburgh has got to have some things going on?
PS - Is it the play-offs in January and if so what is the Murder:ObtainingATicket ratio? ie - who do i have to kill?
