I've been looking for a new job ever since my boss, Androgyny, told me they were trying to replace me. Nice.
So far, no real luck with finding more work, but I have managed to keep the amount of work I do here to a minimum while maxing out on laziness, rudeness and irresponsibility. It's been kind of fun, actually. Regardless, I do need to get out of here. It's driving me crazy. To wit, here's the rundown of an interaction with a temp that Androgyny has moved into my office.
Me: Wow, it's really shitty outside.
Temp: Yeah, today's the kind of day where you get that Rob Thomas song in your head.
Me: Who?
Temp: Yeah, you know that Matchbox 20 song about 3AM?
Me: I have no idea what you're talking about.
Temp: Yes you do. It gets stuck in your head on rainy days.
Me: I've never had a Matchbox 20 song stuck in my head.
Temp: Here, let me play it for you.
Me: (puts on headphones and turns away)
Temp: Hey! Um. Okay, nevermind.
This has been both the high and low point of my day.
High, because now the temp is leaving me alone.
And low, because I realized people still listen to Matchbox 20.

and as for the whole 'being replaced' thing it sounds like you need to start drinking heavily!
Did you accept their offer for perm. employment? I'm assuming not, since they're attempting to replace you. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
they never made me an offer. they're just keeping me around until they hire someone permanently, from outside. it was highly foolish of my boss to tell me this, because now i have NO motivation to do anything. so instead, i blog and read blogs. i should probably look for another job, huh?
Damn, now I'm definitely jealous--the only time I can blog during the day is when my boss is out of the office (like right now!) I'm beginning to think that blogging full-time would beat any other day job...now if I can just figure out how to make it pay!
PS...Why must all gay boy bands hail from FLORIDA??? It's giving the rest of us a bad name!
